We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:12-13, The Message
As Meredith Lopez taught us yesterday, there’s pleny of fog these days. We just cannot quite see clearly enought to know where we’re going. So that means that we have to wait. Like looking at a puzzle piece and knowing it fits somewhere, it’s going to take some time to figure out where it all fits. As Meredith pointed out, theologically, that may not happen until heaven for many things.
So the key question is, What do we do in the meanwhile? As Paul pointed out so beautifully in 1 Corinthians 13, we love. And love always has an object - so it means we love people. (and yes, we love God).
Read over the passage again. What stands out to you? How might you pray about that today?
