Who Knows You?

But you, Timothy, certainly know what I teach, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. You know my faith, my patience, my love, and my endurance.
     - Paul, in 2 Timothy 3:10

Think about these two truths, and what's necessary for us to embrace them:

  1. Parenting is discipleship.
  2. Discipleship is imitation.

This week we're thinking about parenting, but it's so much more than that.  As we talked about on Sunday (you can hear the sermon HERE), the heart of both parenting and discipleship is imitating someone.

The best way for someone to imitate you well is to get up close to you.  That's what Paul invited Timothy into - life on life investing, like a parent with a child.  Who has let you into their lives, homes, and thoughts like that?  Who do you let in like that?
