Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
- Paul, 1 Corinthians 11:1
How awkward is it that Paul comes right out and tells people to imitate him! But the truth is, he's just more honest about it than most of us.
Our lives are built around imitation. Everything about what we wear and what we eat, how we view politics and music, and what we think is right or beautiful - all of these things we've picked up from others. None of us live in a vacuum. Paul is willing to name it - that he's doing his best to follow Christ, and he realizes that we all need practical, flesh and blood examples of how to do that... so why not follow him as he follows Christ?
ow about you - who are the biggest influences on you? Whose life do you strive to imitate?
Now ask the harder questionsWho is imitating you? And do you have a life worth imitating?
