How God Leads

I led them with cords of human kindness,
    with ties of love.
To them I was like one who lifts
a little child to the cheek,
and I bent down to feed them.
                 - Hosea 11:4

So often we want God to do a miracle, to speak from heaven, or to overwhelm us with emotion.  It's probably not bad to want those things.  And sometimes he gives them.  But mostly, he touches us through other people.

Think back on all the human kindness you've experienced over the past 24 hours.  What if you reinterpreted that as God leading you? It is God, after all, who leads us with 'cords of human kindness' - through the tender care of others.

Now think back to the past year and the past decade - how has God reached out to you through the kindness of others?

Take some time to thank him specifically for a few of those moments of kindness.  Then take some time to ask for the grace to be the vehicle he might use today to carry his kindness to someone else.
