Be Thankful (in actual practice!)

First, spend 5 minutes reading this passage three times over.(Do you think you can memorize it?)

And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful. Let the Word of Christ dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.
- Colossians 3:15-16

Next, think about one person you are thankful for. Allow yourself to dwell on the reasons why.

  • How did that person specifically impact you for good?

  • What would it be like if that person, was absent from your life?

Finally, take a few minutes to write a note, email or text to that person who you are thankful for. Share a memory of how they encouraged you or a story about how your life is different now because of them. And say a prayer of thanksgiving to God for placing them in your life.

Bonus: How did it feel to do that? What response, if any, did you receive?
